Mario Castañeda arrived in Switzerland in 2001, after successfully completing a Bachelor's degree in the Music program at UDLA-P (Universidad de Las Americas, Pueblo, Mexico). He entered the Tibor Varga academy of Sion, in 2010, in Marcio Carneiro and Susan Rybicki-Varga's class. He obtained his Teaching Diploma in 2007.
He studied at the University of Music in Lucerne in the class of Marek Jarie, and, in 2010, earned his CAS. In parallel with his studies, Mario Castañeda perfected himself under the influence of great masters such as Thomas Demenga, Frans Helmerson, Gàbor Takacs Nagy, etc.
Il se produit régulièrement en Suisse et au Mexique, principalement en duo violoncelle-piano. Il commence à se former à la pédagogie Suzuki au sein de l'Institut Suzuki de Lyon en 2008. Durant les 4 années qui suivent, il y obtient successivement quatre niveaux.
